Considering an Oppo Roadtrip Already...

I really want to try out my first time of being free of my parent's household by going on a roadtrip, preferably by myself. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Wichita,Ks to South Fork (We have a cabin there), CO

SF to Denver (for Denver and NotInDetroit)

Denver through Boise (anyone?) to Seattle (PetarVN, possibly others)

Seattle to LA (Possibly DssCats, others along the way)

LA to Phoenix (anyone along that way?)

Phoenix to DFW (EL_ULY, others possibly)

DFW to OKC (anyone?)

OKC to Tulsa (TulsaMtnBiker, davesaddiction, others?)

Possibly Hallett (if they will let my Sportwagen have a go ;)

From there back home to Wichita ;)

Total of just over 5k miles, AKA about 10 tanks of fuel at around $50 per tank of diesel ;) I think it would be a fun experience and a complete departure from the flat land of Kansas. I have never been to Salt Lake City, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, LA (for something non-Disneyland), or Tulsa.

What say you Oppo? Good idea or great idea?!?!

lol I would probably be getting the downpipe and egr "fixed" (removed) and the stage 2 tune before I headed out... I would probably end up getting about 50 MPG ;)

Doesn't removing the EGR actually hurt the gas mileage on those? I had a couple of friends in diesel tech school with early 2000's Jetta's, that explained something like that to me.

No, it actually improves it by keeping the engine from dumping unburned diesel into the exhaust... it also helps the turbo last longer ;) (and MOAR POWER!)

Now as for the approval of my parents.... IDK what they will say :( After all, I will only be 18 :/

That and 5k miles is a long ass drive ;) That's equal to like 3 months of driving for me lol

But the whole trip would probably take about 2-3 weeks at least :)

yeah! :D just... make sure it's not in july, since I might be in Europe then! If you're gonna come up to Seattle, I'll be your guide to things up here! there are fun roads, cool people (I'm only 16 now, so expect adolescent, not mature people :P) and such

I drive 50 something miles per day just to school and back, 5k would be about the equivalent to most people's 1k mile road trip lol

IDK how I will convince them... although when I asked my mom earlier, she was like "With who?" So I assume that she would want to go with me... uh no. Maybe I can gain their trust?
